Our Facility

South Paws is conveniently located just off Rt 3 in Pembroke, MA.  Our facility is comprised of 3 separate indoor play areas within 3000 sq. ft. to safely accomodate dogs of various sizes and activity levels.  Everything in our playroom, cushioned sports floor, vinyl fencing and durable toys have been selected to provide a safe and sanitary environment for your dog.  Our outdoor areas are securely fenced and free of hazards.  Our goal at South Paws is to give your dog the exercise, playtime and social experience many dogs thrive on, without compromising safety.    

Our Family

The founder of South Paws, Karen Price, earned a BS in Animal Science from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and spent many years as a sales representative in the wholesale pet supply industry. In 2001, she retired from the business to raise a family.  South Paws was founded in January of 2006 and opened for business in May of 2006.

Karen works at the daycare full time and transports dogs to and from daycare.  Her husband, Tim, works at South Paws when he's not at his "Paying Job" as a firefighter. Jen Gauthier is the General Manager.  Jen embarked on an internship with South Paws in October of 2009 and became a Manager in February, 2010 after graduating from Fisher College with a degree in Business Management.

 South Paws currently has four part-time employees: Kristin Oster, owner of a local pet sitting and dog walking service, spends her free time at South Paws helping out with the morning and evening rush.  Jen Velardi, a recent graduate of UMass Amherst, previously worked for 5 years at CVS in Hanson.  She also has previous daycare, pet sitting and kennel care experience. Samantha Tripp who is also a seasoned dog handler and our newest family member, Mike Delosh, who comes to us with previous daycare experience and 10 years of volunteer work with The Quincy Animal Shelter. Together, they strive diligently, happily and professionally to provide you with the best care and customer service in the industry.
